By limiting our workload to just a few homes per year, Jeff ensures that every project receives his full attention. We don’t believe in juggling multiple builds at once—our focus is always on delivering superior craftsmanship and detail to every home we create.
About Our Owner + Founder | Jeff Smith
Jeff Smith, founder of Smith Custom Homes, has deep roots in the Yakima Valley, with his father and grandparents setting up roots here. Though his father’s career took him around the world, Jeff always felt drawn back to Yakima, where he spent cherished time fishing, and enjoying the natural beauty of our area.
Jeff’s passion for building began from a young age, where he loved building and working with his hands. After completing a Bachelors of Science at the University of Utah, he chose to return to Yakima Valley raise his family.
Jeff started his career remodeling homes, gaining hands-on experience and knowledge. By 2008, he officially launched Smith Custom Homes, turning his lifelong passion into a business dedicated to quality and precision.
Now, with over 20 years in Yakima, Jeff is a dedicated family man who spends his free time with his four kids, two grandchildren—or fishing the local waters. His love for the community fuels his mission to build homes that contribute to a stronger, more beautiful Yakima for future generations.
